The Pi Disc
In Ancient Chinese, the round Pi Disc and Square Ts'ung Tube were designed to accommodate the belief that the heaven was round and the earth was square. Both were important ritual objects. The round shape of the Pi is said to derive from the circular path that the sun follows in the sky.
